Description:
silver mustard spoon with a downturned oval handle with shell decoration, a gadrooned border and the engraved initials, "MGH" in script; circular bowl with shell decoration; makers' marks stamped on the underside of the handle.
Gallery Label:
The initials "MGH" refer to Mary G. Howard who married William Huges Gilder in Baltimore in 1856.
