These artifacts were found at Libbey Castle near Fort Tryon, a British fort in Washington Heights, Manhattan. They were loaned by Mr. Jonas Libbey and stored for many years as part of the Reginald Pelham Bolton Collection of Revolutionary War Relics (Case 2, No. 63) in the Jumel Mansion, at 160th Street and Edgecomb Avenue. The fort functioned as the northern extension of Fort Washington, and the American artillerymen stationed there were overrun by Hessian forces on November 16, 1776.
