Ruth Dana was the younger daughter of Charles A. Dana (1819-97), the noted editor and publisher of The New York Sun and Eunice (Macdaniel) Dana (1824-1903). She married Dr. William H. Draper on December 5. 1877. The couple had six children, including the internationally known monologuist Ruth Draper.
