Charlotte Bronson Winthrop Hunnewell, the daughter of Hollis and Louisa (Bronson) Hunnewell, was born in Wellesley, Mass. She married Victor Sorchan (ca. 1863-1944) in 1894, and the marriage ended in divorce about 1920. She married her second husband, Walton Martin (d. 1949), a New York physician, in 1921. The subject published several volumes of French poetry, which she had translated, and four volumes of letters written by her grandmother, Charlotte (Brinckerhoff) Bronson.
