Ruth Catharine Schuyler was the eldest daughter of Philip Schuyler (1788-1865) and Grace (Hunter) Schuyler. She married Thomas William Ogden (1810-1901), son of J. Ludlow Ogden, at Schuylerville on August 24, 1836. Her portrait was a gift to the Society from her granddaughter.
