Gallery Label:
Mary Stewart Taber was the daughter of Corey Taber (ca. 1787-1845), a broker of New York. She married Robert Schell on March 28, 1850, and the couple resided at 33 West 56th Street. Her portrait was a gift to the Society from her daughter-in-law.
