Lucy Madison Worthington of Kentucky was the daughter of General William Hoard Worthington and Eliza (Tomlinson) Worthington, and the grandniece of President Madison. She married Henry Clews (1834-1923), a bank and broker, who was a native of England. They lived in New York and had a summer home in Newport, R.I. Mrs. Clews was a founder of the Colony Club.
