Louise Hollingworth Morris, the daughter of John B. Morris and Louise (Van Dyke) Morris of Baltimore, was the first wife of Frederic Gebhard; they were married in 1894 and divorced in 1901, in which year she married Henry Clews, Jr. (d. 1937), an artist and the son of a prominent New York banker. The subject was divorced from her second husband in 1914, and was known thereafter as Mrs. Morris Clews. She died in Paris, where she had lived for the most of the last twenty-five years of her life.
