This is a view looking west toward the Hudson River and the distant Nyack hills from the mill pond on the Pocantico River in Westchester County. The Philipse-Beekman mansion at what was formerly the Upper Mills at Philipsburg Manor appears at the right, with the mill just beyond the mill dam. The manor house, mill, and adjunct buildings and grounds were restored in the 1960s and are open to the public and maintained by the Sleepy Hollow Restorations.
