Each side of pen inscribed with "III" pattern running in stripes lengthwise. Each round encircled with "III" pattern.
Two sided metal pen with split ends in which to insert charcoal and rounds to tighten. One piece of charcoal.
According to the accession records, this tabouret was used by Asher B. Durand, an artist and engraver best known for his Hudson River school paintings.
