Bronze struck medal with obverse showing left-facing bust-length profile; legend: "LVDOVICVS.MAGNVS.REX.GALLIARVM.INVICTISSIMVS". Reverse shows standing soldier leaning agaisnt column inscribed: "NAVTARVM/ LX . MILL/ CONSCRIPT", ships and sea in background; legend: "BELLO.ET.COMMERCIO."; in exerg.: "M.DC.LXXX". In hinged green leather presentation box lined in red velvet, with brass clasp.
