Description:
Bronze struck medal with obverse showing right front-facing bare headed bust-length portrait of Columbus with fur collar above branches and anchor; legend: "CHRISTOPH COLUMBUS." Reverse shows draped female figure in flight over Atlantic, with "PALOS" and "SAN SALVADOR" marked, "1492" on her sail; legend: "ZUM 400 JAHR JUBILAEUM DER ENTDECKUNG AMERICAS 12. OCTBR 1892."
