Brass struck medal with obverse showing figures on beach, one with flag, and ship at sea in background, surrounded by border of stars; in exergue.: "LANDING OF COLUMBUS 1492." Reverse shows domed building above "ADMINISTRATION BUILDING"; legend "WORLDS COLUMBIAN EXPOSITION CHICAGO/ 1893." Raised loop attached at top with hanger ring.
