Struck bronze medal with obverse showing the scene of surrender of Lieutenant General Charles Cornwallis to George Washington on October 17, 1781 after the battle of Yorktown, with four oval medallions showing portraits of George Washington, Comte de Grasse, Comte de Rochambeau, and Charles Cornwallis; scrolls at left are inscribed: "1871/YORKTOWN/1931." Reverse bears American eagle with shield and laurel wreath above head and legend within border: "PRESENTED by the SOCIETY of the CINCINNATI in the STATE of VIRGINIA."
