Bronze struck medal with obverse showing Columbus with open arms advancing left, two crewmembers below, one with banner; legend "CHRISTOPHER/ COLVMBVS/ OCT XII/ MCCCCXCII." Reverse shows globe flanked by two angels above, ship below; legend: "WORLDS COLUMBIAN EXPOSITION/ IN COMMEMORATION OF THE/ FOUR HUNDREDTH ANNIVERSARY/ OF THE LANDING OF COLUMBUS/ MDCCCXCII MDCCCXCIII" and cartouche above ship preceded by "To" containing "C. EMMERICH & CO."
