Gilt silver struck medal with obverse showing head of Christopher Columbus facing right with surrounding legend: "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA/COLUMBIAN HALF DOLLAR." Reverse depicts sailing ship with halves of world globe beneath, flanked by date: "14 92"; surrounding legend: "WORLD'S COLUMBIAN EXPOSITION CHICAGO/1893."
