Mariners' Harbor wasa prosperous nineteenth-century fisherman's community on the north shore of State Insland and a home for oystermen who made their living in the nearby waters and resided along the Kill van Kull. Knecht for three of seven vignette views which appear on a published lithograph which is given the overall title of Staten Island, N.Y., and is signed at the lower right H. Knecht, Del.
