Rectangular Louis XVI mantel clock with glass case with gilded bronze frame mounted on white marble pedestal; circular white enamel dial set just above center of front of case and protected by convex glass window with gilt surround; front of case decorated with gilded bronze scrolling acanthus leaves, grape vines, eagle heads, laurels, a torch, and arrows, all surmounted by gilded bronze gallery; bronze pendulum with face at center of sunburst; visible escapement.

According to the donor, this clock was presented to Richard Harison (1747-1829), appointed by George Washington in 1789 as the first United States Attorney for the district of New York.
