Description:
Iridescent blown glass lamp base in the form of a candlestick; flared socket, tapering, twisted stem flaring to circular base; pontil mark. Socket receives kerosene lighting apparatus (missing).
Gallery Label:
This base forms part of a kerosene lighting device known as "The Twilight," patented in 1894. Complete examples are 1942.244a-c, INV.2182a-c, and INV.2183a-c.
