Description: 
Lady's brimless, beaded hat with soft, red velvet crown, pale green velvet ribbon bow in front, and two black ribbon streamers in back; crown dotted with coral beads sandwiched between smaller gray beads and surrounded with fringe consisting of loops of charcoal gray beads with coral pendants; lined with ivory silk.

According to the accession records, this hat was made for the trousseau of the donor's grandmother, Carmelite Constant Bowling, a native of New Orleans. Miss Bowling married Lieutenant Christopher Leslie Bruns, U.S.N.
