Description:
Bronze struck medal with obverse showing clothed bust of Joseph Choate facing left with legend: "CHOATE." Reverse contains inscription at center, enclosed by laurel wreath: "JOSEPH . HODGES . CHOATE/1832 - 1917/PATRIOT/AMBASSADOR/JURIST/ORATOR"; incense burner above, flanked by letters "C" and "A"; seal of the American Numismatic Society below. Medal is inset into square cream-colored cardboard box.
