Description: 
Molded porcelain heart-shaped tray with a hand finished undulating scalloped edge flange; enamelled inside walls with flocked white glaze, green and red on flange, leaving a raised texture, and overglaze gold border.
Gallery Label: 
This tray was donated by the granddaughter of the decorator, Edward Lycett, known as "the pioneer of china painting in America." Lycett trained in Stoke-on-Trent, England before coming to New York and setting up his decorating shop.
