Cream-colored imitation silk scarf printed in red "George McGovern" and in blue "For President" down center; words "opportunity, justice, unity, peace, togetherness, honesty, truth" printed in blue along sides.
This scarf was produced for the campaign of democratic presidential candidate George McGovern (b. 1922), who waged an anti-war crusade against incumbent Richard Nixon in 1972. McGovern lost the election in a landslide.
