Pewter struck medal with obverse showing nude bust of Washington facing right with surrounding legend: "GEORGIO WASHINGTON SVPREMO DVCI EXERCITVVM ADSERTORI LIBERTATIS/COMITIA AMERICANA"; reverse shows Washington and his staff, on horseback, watching the British evacuation of Boston and the entrance of the American forces; legend above: "HOSTIBUS PRIMO FUGATIS"; inscription below in exergue: "BOSTONIUM RECUPERATUM/XVII. MARTII/MDCCLXXVI." Black rectangular plastic fitted case with red velvet paper lining; accompanying booklet enclosed.
