Two fragments of the flag which flew over Ft. Sumter at the beginning of the Civil War, one red fragment, one white fragment; housed in sixth-plate daguerreotype case and framed by scalloped mat; hinged top of case missing.
These fragments are from the flag which flew over Fort Sumter in Charleston, South Carolina at the beginning of the Civil War.
