Sliver of mahogany taken from George Washington's desk in Federal Hall.

Two slivers of wood from George Washington's desk at Federal Hall were obtained by the donor's father at the time that the desk was restored. The donor, Mrs. Helen A. Collingwood, presented the other smaller piece to the Washington Association at Morristown, NJ. At the time of the donation in 1931, Washington's desk was on display in the Governor's Room of City Hall.
