This study consists of four scenes cut in oval shape and pasted on the mounting sheet. One is an untitled shipboard scene. A second scene, showing a vessel at sea, is inscribed: "Roebuck at sea bound to/America." A third is of a beached vessel and is inscribed: "In sloop from Kidwelly to/Bristol/Steal apple dumpling." The fourth shows a rider on horseback in front of an estate gateway and is inscribed: "Pool-Hall/Poney Parson miff/[?] Kite."
