Silk printed Union Jack nailed to a black wood flagstaff with a gold painted finial.
Gallery Label: 
The Union Jack, the national flag of England, served as the U.S. flag from 1620 to 1777, when the U.S. was an English colony. In 1606, Scotland was added to England and the white cross of St. Andrew was added to the English Cross. The field was also changed to blue.
