This flag was presented to Betty Spitz, life-long companion of Charles Tauss (1927-2000), after his burial at Calverton National Cemetery on Long Island. Tauss, a veteran, served in the Army of Occupation in France and Germany from 1945 to 1947. Serviceman's casket flags such as this one are presented to the closest family member of military veterans.
