Description:
Wool U.S. flag with thirteen white stars in the blue canton (two rows of four stars divided by one row of five); thirteen red and white stripes; linen hoist with nine holes with embroidering around them along the hoist.
Gallery Label:
This flag was carried by Major William Mott (1774-1848) of Hempstead, Long Island to Fort Greene, Brooklyn, 1814, during the War of 1812. The donor was the grandson of Major Mott.
