Silk sewn U.S. flag with 30 stars in the canton; below the canton is a hand written paragraph; red, white, and blue silk used.
Gallery Label: 
This flag was carried by A.B. Osborne, a Union Lieutenant during the Civil War and was reportedly raised over the Confederate battlements at New Orleans when they were taken by the Union army in 1862. It was found in 1955 in the tower of the Church of the Divine Paternity, Central Park West and 76th Street, New York City. B.S. Osborne may have at one time been a member of the congregation.
