This badge was worn by the father of the donor, Zophar Mills (1809-1887) when he was a member of the Engine "Eagle" Company No. 13 of the New York Volunteer Fire Department. Mills served as Assistant Engineer of the New York Volunteer Fire Dept. from 1838 to 1842.
