Painted papier-mâché figurine representing a French soldier (a sapper and/or grenadier); shako hat with red plume and gold braid and tassels, red epaulets, leather apron and cuffs, ax carried over one shoulder and rifle with bayonnet carried over the other, backpack, and saber in low-slung leather holder; figurine is mounted on a green painted rectangular wooden base.
