Sheild-shaped, machine-embroidered patch with an image of the Twin Towers.

According to a letter sent to the New-York Historical Society by John Condon, firefighter Andre Cox of Ladder Company 43 designed a purple bunting addition to the Fire Department of the City of New York (FDNY) department logo patch as a memorialized addendium for those department members who suffered grevious losses. At the time the letter was sent, this design had not been officially aproved by the FDNY.
