Dark brown wood handle with two incised lines on either side of concave incision circling base of handle. Tapers to conical copper (bent) ferrule with threaded tip.
According to the accession records, this tabouret was used by Asher B. Durand, an artist and engraver best known for his Hudson River school paintings.
