Description:
Dress hat with blue wool crown with flat, circular top and black patent leather visor; gilded metal insignia in the form of a shield-breasted eagle surmounted by a cross with "UNITED SPANISH WAR VETERANS / 1898-1902" inscribed within borders of circular frame at center; chin strap of gold metallic cloth tape secured at either side by a button embossed with cross emblem similar to type referred to above.
