Description: 
Dark blue wool double-breasted militia officer's dress coat; 1 3/4" closed stand-up collar lined with dark blue velvet (one hook and eye); one buttonhole on each shoulder near the collar and a shoulder strap at the outer edge of the shoulder, at outer edge at the front of each should beneath shoulder straps there are 4 loops on each side, and at the back of the shoulder beneath the shoulder straps there are 2 loops on each side; 7 buttons down each side of the front of the bodice, open false cuffs on the sleeves each with 3 buttons; 4 panels at the back of the bodice, with 2 buttons near the center at the waistline and one button securing the split skirt together; the fabric along the interior of the lapels are finished with pinking; bodice and sleeves are lined with white linen, breast thickly padded and lightly quilted, skirt lined with dark green silk; all buttons cast with an eagle above quadrant shield surrounded with stars, with "EXCELSIOR" below.
