Rectangular dome-topped wooden doll trunk covered in leather with embossed geometric designs; black straps nailed with brass tacks; handles at sides and lock at front, castors on base. Original key inside trunk. Interior covered with printed paper; compartmentalized lid and lift-out tray; 2 chromolithographed figural images affixed to interior. Trunk contains various doll accessories, including a small case of toilet articles, a doll lorgnette on chain, an ivory fan, and various ribbons.
Gallery Label: 
This doll trunk belonged to Edith Gray Richards, the mother of the donor. It contains the clothing and accessories of "Marie," a doll brought from Paris in 1867 by Augustus Cory Richards, the grandfather of the donor.
