Description:
Wrought silver dish; shallow, circular bowl-shaped dish; engraved in the center, "E E G" in script; flaring sides covered with foliate repoussé chasing; cast and applied foliate and ball band; makers' marks on the base.
Gallery Label:
EEG is Emma Elizabeth Gilder (b. 1861), the aunt of the donor (Louise S. Gilder). Emma was a sister of Louise's father, William Howard Gilder (b. 1857, Maryland).
