Engraved, rectangular steel die with initial "M" in oval frame surmounted by stag's head; inscribed "VINCIT QUI PATITUR" in oval border.
Gallery Label:
This die was used to mark the stationery of Edwin Denison Morgan (1811-1883), governor of New York from 1859 to 1863.
