Description: 
silver dessert fork with an upturned fiddle thread handle with a short midrib and the engraved initials, "MGH" in script on the front; four curved tines; maker's marks stamped on the underside of the handles.
Gallery Label: 
The initials "MGH" refer to Mary G. Howard who married William Hughes Gilder in Baltimore in 1856.
