Cream jug

Object Number:
Possibly 1760-1820, possibly 1900-1940
Overall: 4 x 3 1/4 x 1 3/4 in. ( 10.2 x 8.3 x 4.4 cm )
Cobalt blue pattern-molded lead glass cream jug; ovoid body with short neck, flared rim pulled out to form spout all pattern-molded with diamond diapering; applied handle crimped and curled at end; applied pedestal foot with pontil mark.
Gallery Label:
Though stylistically the cream jug dates to the late 18th-century, the lack of wear, weak handle, and odd proportions suggest that it may be a 20th century reproduction.
