Description:
Mahogany cradle with hood with faceted top, cut-out handles on either side, broken serpentine-shaped foot board, and mattress with cotton ticking and raw cotton stuffing; raised on shaped rockers.

According to the accession records, Mrs. George McLaughlin (Harriett Taylor, ca. 1813-1873) of New York City, grandmother of the donor, rocked her daughter Harriett T. McLaughlin (1843-1907) in this cradle.
