Inscribed at lower left outside image in graphite: "New York from the south 1750."
This was copied from an engraving in the Atlantic Neptune. The engraving was prepared and published for the use of the Royal Navy by the British Admiralty in 1763-1784 under the direction of J.F.W. Des Barres.
