Description: 
Pair of colorless pressed lead glass compotes with bowl and base pressed in one piece; bowl has octagonal rim with serpentine edge, stippled sides with alternating scroll and floral motifs, and waffle patterning on underside; solid pedestal base on square foot with waffle patterning on underside.
Gallery Label: 
The style of these compotes is similar to that of European pressed glass manufactured between 1830 and 1850. As they are pressed in one piece, however, they are more likely twentieth-century reproductions.
