Molded creamware pitcher, bulbous with strap handle; black transfer printed decoration on both sides and under spout depicting 1) George Washington and female figure holding liberty cap on pole standing next to map of the thirteen colonies; opposite are two other figures and above is an angel blowing a trumpet, 2)inscription in cartouche surrounded by flowers, flags, and cornucopia, 3) (under spout) spread eagle with shield thirteen stars above holding arrows.

This pitcher was also known as a Liverpool jug; it is possible that the pitcher was made in Staffordshire and printed in Liverpool.
