Admiral Dewey celebration cane.
This cane celebrates the achievements of Admiral George Dewey. He was extremely popular following his victory at the Battle of Manila Bay during the Spanish-American War. The cane has an ivory top, and features applied paper images down the sides of the stick. The cane was probably made in anticipation of Dewey's presidential campaign, which never materialized.
