Description: 
Pair of silver coffee spoons with upturned, double-swell threaded handles with foliate decoration and the engraved initials, "MGH" in script; pointed oval bowls with foliate drops; makers' marks stamped on the undersides of the stems.
Gallery Label: 
The initials "MGH" refer to Mary G. Howard who married William Hughes Gilder in Baltimore in 1856.
