Seven brass coat and baggage checks from the Hudson River steamboat "Mary Powell," each stamped "MARY POWELL [a number] COAT & BAGGAGE ROOM"; in two sizes, two larger octagonal tags (f,g), and four smaller shield-shaped tags (a-d).
These coat and baggage checks were used on the Hudson River steamboat "Mary Powell, which was built in 1861. The Mary Powell plied the Hudson River until 1917 and was sold to scrapping interests in 1919.
