Bronze die-struck medal designed as a commemorative for the Fulton-Hudson celebration; the obverse shows accolated busts of Henry Hudson and Robert Fulton facing right, surrounded by legend: "HENRY . HUDSON ROBERT . FULTON". Reverse depicts allegorical draped female figure reclining upon clouds and holding a light bulb, symbolizing the age of electricity; in background are the Hudson River with "Halve Maen" and "Clermont" and the New York skyline; legend: "MDCIX MDCCCVII/MCMIX". Medal is inset into book-style clothbound presentation case of the Circle of Friends of the Medallion containing historical background; gold embossed logo with portrait of Pisanello at upper right corner of cover and number "1" on upper section of spine; monochrome woodblock-printed bookplate with initials "JMA" pasted inside front cover.
